Low-Fat Brownies
15 skinny brownies
- 1/2 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 4 egg whites, lightly beaten
- 1/3 cup canola oil (or uns. applesauce)
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Preheat oven to 350°.
Spray a 13 x 9-inch non-stick baking pan with cooking oil spray. Combine boiling water and cocoa in a large bowl. Mix until completely dissolved. Add eggs, sugars, oil and vanilla; mix then add the flour, baking powder, salt and chopped walnuts; mix well.
Pour mixture into prepared pan; bake in a 13 x 9-inch non-stick baking pan 25 minutes or until brownies are done. OR bake at 325° in a glass 8X8 pan for 25 minutes. Cool in pan on wire rack; cut into squares
