Peanut Butter Cookies

Makes 6 dozen

  • 1/2 cup Crisco shortening
  • 1/2 cup margarine or butter, softened
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups Gold Metal flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Mix thoroughly the shortening, margarine, peanut butter, sugars, and egg. Blend in flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Cover and chill.

Preheat oven to 375°. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Place 3 inches apart on a lightly greased baking sheet. With fork dipped in flour, flatten in crisscross pattern to 2 inches. Bake 10 minutes or until set but not hard. Cool a few minutes on pan before turning out onto a wire rack to cool thoroughly.

HINT: Always use Air-Insulated pans for perfect cookies every time.
