Double Chocolate Brownies
16 squares
These are moist, chocolate, rich and easy to make brownies.
- 3/4 cups flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 Tablespoons water
- 1 12oz package semi-sweet chocolate morsels, divided
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Preheat oven to 325°.
Combine flour, baking soda and salt, set aside.
In a small saucepan, combine butter, sugar and water; heat just to a boil.
Remove from heat and stir in 1 cup of chocolate chips
and the vanilla. Stir until chocolate melts and mixture is smooth. Add
eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually blend
in flour mixture. Stir in remaining chips and nuts. Spread in a greased
9" square pan. Bake 30-35 minutes or until brownies test done. Cool
completely and cut into squares.
Recipe may be doubled and baked in a 9"x13" pan, resulting
in a thicker brownie. Bake 35-45 minutes.
If desired, dust cooled brownies with powdered sugar.
